Job Description

The buffer is responsible for the grinding, sanding, or polishing of our different metals including stainless steel and aluminum and a variety of other metals with the use of hand tools or hand-held power tools.

Job Duties include: 

• Responsible for grinding, sanding, cleaning, or polishing objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools.
• Responsible for controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes.
• Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
• Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions.
• Record product and process data on specified forms.
• Trim, scrape, or deburr objects or parts, using hand tools and equipment.
• Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas, using moving devices.

• Must be willing to work in a fast paced, intense environment, with the ability to complete assignments.

•  Availability to work overtime to meet deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• The employee frequently is required to walk or stand for long periods of time.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
