Job Title: Polisher and Buffer

Job Description

Join our team as a Polisher and Buffer where you will begin by utilizing a hand grinder to smooth out rough edges and polish metal to a high-quality finish. You will also cross-train in basic fabrication, which includes cutting metal to length using a tape measure, operating a brake press, spot welding, buffing, and preparing items for paint. Your role may also involve supporting other departments such as assembly, packaging, and painting as needed.

Responsibilities

• Use hand grinders to smooth and polish metal surfaces.
• Cross-train in basic fabrication techniques including metal cutting and welding.
• Measure metal accurately using a tape measure.
• Operate machinery such as brake presses and spot welders.
• Assist in assembly, packaging, and painting departments when required.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience, education, or hobbies.
• Experience with sheet metal grinding.
• Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure, along with basic math skills.
• Experience with hand and power tools, including welding and fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience.
• Experience in reading tape measures.
• Experience in shop classes such as welding, automotive, woodworking, or machine/tool operations.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large, fast-paced manufacturing facility that requires self-motivation. The physical work environment is smoke-free and does not have temperature control, so it can become warm during the summer months.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.84 - $22.09/hr.
